Title: Motrix Oil filters
Post by: FJTillDeath on October 31, 2011, 02:24:31 AM
Hi guys, just wanted to check if anybody here has ever used Motrix oil filters before and if it was any good. Its the filter I got from my dealer. Havent fitted it in yet so I dont know if it even fits yet(dealer is adimant it will). The reason I didnt put the oil filter in along with some fresh oil...

I didnt realise I only had 2.5 liters left of my Castrol GTX and the manual says to replace with 3.5 liters in the event of a filter change. Also the dealer did not have an oring for it(he said I dont need to replace it) although the manual says it would be best. I am gonna order some parts from Randy so I was wondering if I should just leave the oil filter til I get the oring?

Here are some pics of the filter

If I really dont need to get the oring I wont, Im gonna get some new oil today anyway, fresh 5 liters so I'll do it then unless its better to wait for the oring

looks the same as a standard type, ive bought after market ones before, its usually only yamaha ones that have the orings, ,a new one wouldnt hurt, but should be fine without it , ive never had an isue re,using the old one, except now ive got randy,s spin on adapter

Thanks 11.5

I just went and bought some new oil now. Castrol GTX High Mileage 20W 50. Basically the same as normal Castrol GTX but it says it lasts up to 60 percent longer blah blah. Cost me 10 rand more than normal GTX(not even 2 dollar) so I dont think there will be that much of a difference. Hopefully it will last longer than the previous oil. Maybe I'll do a product reveiw on it :sarcastic: as it looks fairly new..

just listen or feel for clutch slip, some oils have extra added to them, wet clutches dont like ,its mostly the more expensive oils, so you should be fine
