Title: Hello to all, well done for the great reads this site brings.
Post by: Deadly166 on October 28, 2011, 05:48:58 AM
Recently acquired a off road cart for the young men and gals of my family (sons and daughter and young at heart, myself and wife)engine 89 fj1200 mild cam work, carby work.independent front and rear suspension, chain driven, disc brake front end.Needs a be of tlc as has been sitting for about 3years and has never been completed.Drive has to be fitted, brakes hooked up,clutch hooked up,gear shift sorted out, seat and harness fitted. You know just small things, but looking forward to having these small things out the way by Christmas holidays.Brought the cart home, fire up that adrenalin pumping engine only to find petrol dripping out the overflows, pulled carby's off and unscrewed the bottoms to find full of sh-t.Wanted to remove top screws to clean carbys from top to bottom, screws wouldn't undo.Long story short end up breaking top corner off no1 left side carby.More money and time before we get this machine on the road, any advice well come.Keep up the good work all.Deadly166. :shout:

depending how bad the break is, say just through the thread, jb weld or something else will work, as i broke mine that way, if its totally trashed, and you get all the other screws apart i could send you a  carb body for the price of postage from tas, may take me a little while to get it sorted though, mainly because the set is still complete  (popcorn)  , as for the screws soak them in wd40or??  and try using vice grips,
