Title: Handle bar threads
Post by: grannyknot on September 29, 2011, 05:10:41 PM
I have a brand new set of Vibranators and on the left handle bar there are NO threads to screw it into.
From looking at the other side it looks like a threaded sleeve was press fit into the end of the handle bar to hold onto the bar weight. So I'm missing one, any suggestions or should I try eBay for the whole new handle?

If it is a threaded sleeve pressed into the handle - which would make sense, did it come out with your bar weight when you removed the OEM bar weight - and is still on your OEM bar weight?  I know you've looked, but I have to ask.   :unknown:

If there are no threads on the left handle bar, what was holding your OEM bar weight in place?

Previous owner jammed a shim of metal in there and screwed the bar weight into it. That worked fine for a bar weight but a Vibranator I would think should be centred?

I dont have OEM handlebars either so when i went to go screw mine in i was like "insert everything you just said" and then Randy from RPM said he could get a hold of some that just slip in and the rubber expands and holds it in place, so i'd ask him, or just go to the vibranator website.

Eh, nitrous isn't that bad.  Just use a progressive controller if you're running a big shot.

Saw a ZRX at the track with an 80 (wet) shot.  Controller wasn't working, he hit the button at half track going around 105mph and the bike just stood on end, even with his longer wheelbase... looked like a fun ride!
