Title: Boost sensor
Post by: Tapartacus on September 26, 2011, 01:04:26 AM
Hi all I have a 92 California model FJ1200. and live in Vancouver Canada. Actually I have 2 FJ's one is an 89. On the 89 there is no Boost Sensor, on the 92 there is. What does it do and can I remove it from the 92?.

New to FJowners, great site!

On the '89, the sensor is built into the CDI box..... if you don't have a vacuum hose to it, it's been removed.

Hi thanks for the reply sorry I think I wasn't clear in what my question was. The 92 has a hose running from the intake boot of the number 2 carb which I imagine runs to the boost sensor. I guess the question is what does the boost sensor do? The 89 does not have this hose.
Thanks

My boost sensor is when my ass slides back and is stopped by my Corbin (when the boost kicks in....the Kookaloo moment)

Its an emissions control device. No need for it
