I have a FJ1100 84 and the fuel gauge is showing like 50% of the tank is ful when the tank is 100% ful.
I know there is alote to read about a problems whit the fuel gauge but not this problem.. (or i have not found it anyway) please help if you can!

Directly shorting the connector leading to the sensor should show it as 100% full. If not, odds are the guage ain't right. If it shows totally full under a short and totally empty when open, then check with a meter the resistance of the sender itself while running it through range of motion. Also possibly the actuation float arm is bent or the float ain't right, etc.
