I have a 1993 FJ 1200. I'm replacing the collector box soon. I see there are exhaust gaskets involved. Do I replace those? Do I replace them every time or only if they're bad? I'm not even sure what they're made of! On other bikes I've used an antiseize paste between exhaust parts that resists rust so the parts come apart more easily. Should I use this? If I need new gaskets where do I get them? Where do I get the right antiseize?
Thanks for any help!
Those are crush gaskets, so it's a good idea to replace them.... Randy @RPM sells them pretty cheap.
I always use high temp. antiseize on my exhaust connections and gaskets. You should be able to find some at any auto parts store.
You will notice a little burning smell at first. You don't need much.
