A good question Neil. I've got three bikes at present: 2 FJs and a Honda CBF250 (aka CBX250 Twister). I always run a small bike for commuting and winter use. I don't use the FJs daily. All my journeys on them are for pleasure and not mere transport. Only one of the FJs is on the road at the minute. The older one is roadworthy but it doesn't seem worth paying for the annual vehicle inspection & tax to keep 2 FJs running. I'll use it later in the year when I'm going have a bit more time to ride.

I keep an eye on the "Biketrader" site and have been tortured by the great bikes cheap advertised near me. For around £2k ($3k) recently there's been a Super Blackbird, a 1000cc VStrom, a Ducati ST2, an Aprilia Futura etc etc but it's hard to justify having another bike.

As for the TY, I think I'd dump the chair.

Depending on how much you want to ride all of the bikes you own you could own as many as you want honestly. The only tax we pay for here on vehicles is the annual renewal of the roadworthy license which amounts to about 200rand (about 29$ i think)

Personally I would like to own between 5 and 10 bikes but until Im rich (which most of us dream of being) Il stick with the 1 I have and then purchase a new 1 every now and again. Just to put things in to perspective I pay about twice to 3 times as much for any bike you would find in the USA. i.e a kawa ninja for say 6000$ there would be 12000$ here give or take a few more $$$s

11 bikes beats my personal record. When living at my folks back in the late 80s I had a total of seven bikes at one time.
Took ages to get them all running and then sold.
Felt much better once they'd all gone - then bought one decent one just for riding. (gpz 600r)
Today one bike seems to satisfy all my biking needs
That'll be the FJ then.

Megsy's 2-strokes reminded me of the tee shirts a friend produced for the MZ Riders Club

Only if they are old Kawasaki or Suzuki 2 strokes.  Or could be a couple of Yamaha XS750/850's.  Other than that you have one old Benelli Inline 6 750SEI, or a Morbidelli V8, opps, just part of one.  Or half a Triumph Trident.

Nice old collector bike, the CBX1000 in line 6.  There is a cult following of these in Europe.
