Title: Missing Air intake (scoop) FJ1200 -87
Post by: Nille on August 14, 2011, 02:48:55 AM
On my new FJ 1200 -87 there is one air intake missing on the fairing. Is it possible to remove them both and put a net instead until I get a new air intake without risk for cooling?
My concern is regarding cooling of the cylinderhead that I've read is essential.

Considering your climate in Sweden, you might get away with it, OR NOT.
You'll have better cooling by keeping the one scoop you have in place.

Hi

You're probably right about that. It's still quite warm over here. 20 degrees at the moment.
If anyone have a scope for sale I'm interested, left side. The seller didn't guarantee he could get it for me.

Yeah, well at 20C I think I'd chance it until I was able to get a replacement scoop (and air duct).  It frequently gets to 40C here, and that's too hot even with the scoops if you're stuck in traffic.  (I should have ended that sentence with the word hot)

Cheers,
