Title: Change is in the air
Post by: racerrad8 on July 26, 2011, 07:34:36 PM
I have been noticing over the last month or so that when I order parts more & more vendors are out of stock and using the Japanese earthquake as the reason. My Yamaha supplier has not gotten his container shipment orders since April, which that left the dock in February. He usually gets four a year and this year he is hope for two.

I also notice that since the earthquake pricing has been increasing on almost every order placed. Now, I am not a financial wizard but the value of the dollar to international currency seems to be playing a major role as well.

I spoke to my largest vendor at length last week about the constant rise & fluctuation of parts cost recently and they informed my that they adjust their pricing weekly now instead of holding price changes to semiannual. In fact the reason I called was because the did not supply a new price sheet with their catalog this year and I was told, "we don't make them anymore because we adjust prices weekly.

I see from the website there are many people waiting on parts, but I cannot get them at this point. Those include fork rebuild kits, carbs, etc.

I appreciate your support to date and I will continue to offer you the best prices I can supply with the service you have come to expect.

Thank you,
Randy - RPM

your lucky you are getting them that regularly here in Australia they hold absolutely no parts here in Australia everything is on back order with a wait of @ least 6 weeks and @ 300% on the prices you pay which is why we buy so many of our parts out of the US as its so much cheaper
