Hey all, picked up an FJ this year from a buddy, put 2,500 miles on it so far & I must admit that I'm in love. I begged him to sell me the bike ever since I first saw it 3yrs ago. I've been an avid rider for many years. I've owned (in order) an 82 Honda CB900F, (2) 70 Yamaha DT250's, 88 Yamaha YZ250, 96 Yamaha XJ600, 07 Suzuki GSXR750, and now my 85 FJ1100. I ride everyday that I can, & I've ridden across the country once from my home in NW New Jersey out to Seattle Washington & back (on the XJ of all things). I have a strong mechanical background, I did bodywork on trucks & cars in the beginning, moved to automotive mechanics, then onto Diesel truck dealership(s) onto driving a tow truck (my current profession) now I work for a junkyard towing cars, buying wrecks fixing selling... ad nauseam.
I enjoy sharing my wealth of knowledge with others & also relying in the knowledge of others to help me thru a jam. I believe that one single person can't know everything but that a community of well informed wrench heads can solve any problem. That being said I look forward to teaching & learning whatever I can here. Also looking forward to finding other FJ riders in the area to cruise with.
