I picked up a bunch of this (about 9qt) really cheap. Anyone have anything to say about it?

I hope your clutch is okay with it. Stuff for cars may not agree with wet clutches like ours. I am sure others have used car oil with no adverse effects. Being a race oil it may lack some of the stuff they use for cars as it likely gets changed more often. There is a boat load of talk and opinion on this site regarding oil, try searching on the word "oil" to see how many pages of hits you get.
I prefer 10w40, year round.... I live in Tucson, AZ. We just got into the hundreds.... will be there for the next 6 months.
OK if my clutch doesnt like the oil, I can just change it right? I dont see why there would be any irreversible damage...
I do not think you will cause damage with the oil. If it causes the clutch to slip then flush and drain or just drain it (like normal, while HOT). The residual left from the race oil will be minimal and you should be back to normal. The friction plates are already saturated with the prior oil. So only the oil on the surface may or may not give you problems. I have switched from Dino to full synth with no issues. Others have reported issues. I like my Koookalooo, maybe others like it more and really push it (shout out to you Simi_Ed) . I get slip but my clutch spring is 24 year old stock. I don't blame the oil. I need a second clutch spring and 14mm master.

You will have no problem with that oil. That is the only oil I use in my FJ engines. I like it so much when it goes on sale like it was last week I buy all the cases they have...

You will not have any clutch issues with this oil and it has the additional zinc in the oil that helps the wear on the camshaft lobe surface.
It drags my 1500lb race cars around without any problems.

Bugger me....there you have it....races it in cars and bikes......looks like you are good to go at Koookalooo speeds with no worries... Grab all you can get when it's on sale...If Randy is pushing the limit then the rest of us are covered...Thanks Randy for the input and endorsement on oil...No irony intended, Randy has done me well and I trust his opinions on the FJ engine. I know others will back him as well. Getting passed on one wheel is humbling..... :blush:

I was on both wheels, I was passed by an FJ with the front wheel, either off the ground or damn near it cuz he was flying past me...

I agree with Rich. 10w40 year around (Red Line synth) 20w50 oils too thick for street use, fine for racing applications.

This is a great thing to hear. I had just bought it because it was cheap and I noticed it was motorcycle applicable. I bought all they had, 9qt's @ $2.19ea...How many Qt does it take to change the oil without changing the oil filter?
