Hello everyone,

does anyone know if the coil wires will unscrew from the coils? id like to upgrade mine to NGK power cables?

NO, use yzf coils, those you can change wires

They do, but they're not really supposed to (or they really suck if they're supposed to!) At least, I did it to mine, it's definitely not the right answer, but in a pinch it worked.

Awesome thanks guys. a friend at work said he had a new set of accel coils he would give me b/c they caused his bike to run like crap. anyone heard this before?

candieandy, my 1990 model came with Accel coils already on it. I don't have any complaints with how it starts or runs. I haven't done the coil relay mod yet, but hope to this weekend. If he give them to you, you're not out anything but time to try them. Might ought to check the wires, see if they are the problem.
