ok so i didnt get my 91 done, was tired of the shit so i just said that to end the thread. I actually got the 87 finished with a differnt engine cause i want to use as a stunt bike, not the case here.
What im having problems with is the 91
I got the new frame mounts and i got the engine up in the 91 frame. when going to put the frame mounts on i notice that the engine seems to wide?
the frame mounts "bend in" to far and seems like i cant mount up the engine to it.
Doies anyone maybe have some pics of a 91 where the frame rails mount to the engine in the front?

This is the best i do can do right now for a pic. its the very front of the engine, on the left side
As you can kinda tell the frame rail goes to far inwards. So am i missing some type of bracket?
That picture is shit. Did you look at the online microfishe? If not do so....
well im sorry that the garage is dark and i don't have a better camera, but its all i got.
yes ive looked at that thing. the picture with all the parts etc.
But its inda hard to tell what i need, not very good diagrams.
I see one bracket. But thats it, i dont now if i need anything else
that why i was asing if someone could post up some pics of the 91 fj1200 where the front frame rail connects to the engine in the front of it.
Mine looks like its to far inwards than its suppose to be

The camera is fine it's just too dark. Get some light down there and retake the picture. Got a table light? Take the shade off...
Remind us in your own words on what you are trying to do....
Something about a 91 frame.... You are not trying to put '91 lower frame rails on a 87 frame are you? Naaa..
If you are using a
complete '91 frame, including motor brackets, then everything should bolt right up.
Don't attempt to mix and match, it won't work.
I'll bet the coils will swap over. :-)
DavidR.
Irishluck or whatever your name is , are you posting from a phone or something?
yes i am posting pics from a phone
2nd yes the coild actually do swap over to the 91 frame, already on it
3rd yes i have a 91 frame and 91 frame rails. BUT you said something about motor brackets
I litterly just have the frame and the frame rails, thats what im confussing about. is there something else i need to bolt the frame rails onto the engine?
on the 87 the frame rails have spots to just bolt into the engine itself
You are replying to posts and posting photos from a phone to a website, is this correct?
Do you have a computer?
lol yes i have a computer, im a website designer i have 10 computers.
Im taking pics with my phone but uploading to computer. my camera screen busted, havent had chance to replace. I got 2 better pics im posting now, hopefully there better
(http://i56.tinypic.com/71763d.jpg)
what im trying to do is use the engine from my 87 to put in a 91 frame
The frame and frame rails are a 91. Everything else is 87 and already have it together
Just trying to put the engine in now
As far as i know from what everyone has told me on here, any fj1200 engine will fit into any fj1200 frame as long as long as you have the right frame rails.
Now as you can tell in the pics, it seems to me the frame rails are to far pointed inwards and on top of that it dont line up right, am i missing some type of bracket of some sort or what?

Every little & big bracket on the lower frame rails is what you need to put your humpty dumpty back together again. Good luck on the scavenger hunt.
I still think you would be better off getting a 86/7 frame with a clean title, there are enough floating around.
OK, I'll play nice.
Here is my 91 FJ1200.

O.K, you are a web designer.
With ten computers.
Do you know how to post from one of them?
As you can see, there are many people on this list who can help you.
Whether they will or not all depends on you.
Please show them some courtesy by turning on one of the computers that you design websites with, use the spell checker to write clear and concise posts and post them from the computer, not your phone.
Do people actually pay you for designing their websites or is it a hobby you do after finishing work at the motorcycle store?
Reason for asking is that your posts are usually gibberish, the photos you put up look like you took them while on crack and not many people want to help someone who is shit at even trying to help themselves.
Compare your crack addict photo,
(http://i52.tinypic.com/2j42ich.jpg)
With one of the helpful fellows photos,
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v338/1tinindian/Motorcycles/100_3985.jpg)
Surely you can see the difference, taken with a phone camera or not doesn't matter, most phones are more than capable of taking a clear and crisp 640X480 photo.
Unless you don't know how to take and embed photos, there is no excuse for being so sucky at posting requests.
As a bit of advice, start posting like an adult or be treated as a child.
That was very polite of you Klavdy. Are you feeling well?
like I said, I don't have a camera right now, I busted my screen on it, all I have right now is a phone(and its a pretty shitty phone until next week), sorry. and I was using one of my computers to put the pics on.
and yes I'm 20 years old and a professional website designer, I've built over 100's of sites.
And yea I actually get paid for it. about 150 and hour.
i did see that bracket on the diagram but I wasn't for sure exactly where it went, maybe i should of looked closer? idk.
Leon: thank you, that's exactly what I needed. One more question though. I noticed there are 2 bolts there or two places for bolts. The top one I can see now is used for the bracket what about the bottom one. What's the purpose of it?
Also, i noticed #39 on the diagram is what is in the picture to hold the engine. but what is #8 for?

#39 is the lower cowl mounting tab, which has nothing to do with mounting the engine.

Hello Irishluck. I'm somewhat new to this forum and have spent more time reading posts rather than posting. I've been following your barrage of posts with a somewhat twisted interest and I've come to some conclusions. You seem to be doing well for yourself at $150.00 per hour at the age of twenty but you have a problem with the english language and a reluctance to take solid advice. Perhaps english is not you primary language. As an immigrant to Canada I too had to learn english. Check the yellow pages in your area and find a ESL school or better yet, hire a tutor. With your income this would only cost you the equivelant of 10 minutes work a day. With your new language skills reading a service manual should be a breeze. Your problem with listening to good advice is can be rectified. Engage brain before opening your mouth. Based on your current problems with your FJ project I can only wish you the best of luck with all your other mechanical projects. Best regards, Hein

YES you are right I did sell that one. And main reason why i sold it is cause it was mine and my fathers project car, but he died about a year ago or so and I needed to get rid of it for reasons. But i bought another one for like the same price i sold it for that was in a lot better condition than the previous one I had. (im a huge charger and challenger fan) and the Jeep i didn't buy, when i sold the charger, i got cash plus that 93 grand Cherokee Laredo for the charger.

for some mysterious reason you've alighted here in between playing video games and experimenting with the joys of masturbation while suspended from school.
Hey now, I have fond memories of getting suspended from school, and still do the other bits..

Irish, maybe you could show up at the WCR..."Drinks Bitch" position has been filled but "Moving Potato Cannon Target" is still open.....Owning an FJ is optional for this position....But you have to smile the entire time.....Being light of foot is a BIG plus to keep the position for any length of time.
"Moving Potato Cannon Target" = hold up that pack of cigarettes before you pass out!

Yea, the upcoming West Coast Rally.
That would be cool if you could join us. This year we have Randy from RPM joining us at our rally. What a treat. You do need to meet Randy. I know that Randy would just love to sit down with you, over a couple of beers and you two could discuss FJ's and web site designs...... and motor mounts....and coils....and muscle cars (Randy loves Mustangs).....etc.
Yea Irishdude, you gotta join us.... :good2:

Pat, Jason and I were talking about it last night(as we were looking at his iron head sporty) Odds are we will make it but as usual it will be last minute. I might be able to talk Stef into it, fire season does not start until July 1st.
