Title: Huge thanks to the Handsome Pom for the regulator mod
Post by: Dazza57 on April 28, 2011, 05:55:26 AM
:yahoo:Thanks to this awesome site and the Handsome Pom, the Bosch RE55 regulator fixed my charging problems. Only had the bike for 4 weeks, couldn't ride with the headlight on cause the battery would be flat in 3 days. Managed to get a week (to and from work) with the light off, but then had to charge the battery over the weekend. Finished fitting up tonight, checked battery at only 12.45 volts, thought probably 2 more trips to work before having to push start of charge. As soon as I started her tonight, 13.9 volts at idle, 3,000 rpm and presto 14 volts, lovely !!! :good2:
So now I can start looking at the other mods I want to do. Priority #1 is constant rate springs and emulators, looks like Randy will be getting some business. Then seriously looking at the LSL handlebar kit from Germany. Some say expensive, but hey, braided lines, bars and a much more "old back friendly" height, and I'm hooked. I'd love to get a hold of a rear wheel for a bigger back tyre, that one might have to wait a while.
Ordered some small bits to tidy up the exterior, as soon as they are fitted, I'll post a piccie.
I feel for all you guys in very cold countries. We can ride here all year round, though when I grew up riding in NZ, I've riden in snow and in places where ice could surprise you at any time, I don't miss that :negative:
