Today I opened the end of my Vance & Hines can and pulled out the baffle padding (or whatever you call it). Sorry, I like loud bikes not only for safety, but also "showoffedness" (I just made up that word). I didn't get a lot of attention when I was little, and that one girl, Jody kept taking the red car in kindergarden before I had a chance to drive it. So this is what I've resorted to. It's not my fault.
Anyway, It cranked it up and to my surprize it wasn't much louder. I haven't ridden it yet, maybe that will be different. When it stops raining I'll let you know. I understand I should combine this modification with better air filters and a jet kit, but this is kind of a disposable bike. When I leave Hungary, it's staying here... probably with my landlord. It's really difficult to sell vehicles here.
BUT IT SURE IS FUN TO RIDE WHIILE I HAVE IT!!! :good2:
My V&H is straight through, you can see a 1-1/2" hole right down the middle with only an expansion chamber of sorts in there. It's surprisingly quiet to me when riding. I know the can does something because if you take it off blood will run out your ears under acceleration.
Make sure your landlord joins the forum if he gets the bike!! Don't worry about any language barriers, plenty of English speakers on here make no sense.
