Title: New to site
Post by: King on April 11, 2011, 02:53:09 PM
Just joined up and am glad to have found this site.  I reside in Valleyview, Northern Alberta, Canada and have a 1984 FJ1100.  Just had the engine, brakes, transmission, tires and chain rebuilt.  (Chain new).  Have had a few bikes in my day, and I am dating myself here.  1973 yz80 Yamaha, 1976 Norton 850 Comando, 1976 250 Can-am, 1976 360 Husquavarna, 1979 yz 465 Yamaha, 1980 500XR Honda, 1984 750 Honda Nighthawk, 1984 1000 Interceptor Honda, 1984 FJ 1100 yamaha, 2008 VTX1300T Honda.  Yup I am not a spring chicken and have the mended bones to prove it.  Hello all.

King,
Nice to meet ya! I had the denutted '84 Nighthawk 700 we got down here, still a very fun bike and the gateway drug to my FJ. Too bad we never keep those old bikes.

King,
Welcome to the group. I spent a few years in Alberta. I was posted to CFB Calgary (PPCLI). Met my "Redneck" wife there (dont tell her I said that). I use to love going from Calgary to Banff for a coffee now and then. Alberta, miss the place. Miss the Foot Hills.

     Welcome aboard.

Dan

Ditto to the others, welcome King. Yea, those '84 Yamaha FJ1100's are special huh? I bet you could write a book on your experience based on the previous bikes you have owned....You will fit right in, creaky bones and all...

Cheers! Pat
