Cant seem to get a tight fit on the oil canister. It wants to drip on and make a mess. Does the spin on filter do a better job of sealing and if it does where do I get one. This is an 86 that I bought this winter and haven't been able to ride because of a back surgery, and now I'm back in the saddle but cant get this oil leak to stop. I put a new filter and o ring in and I've tightened it down more than I like, but still the leak. Thanks for any help.
Contact Randy @ RPM for your spin on oil filter. http://www.rpmracingca.com/ (http://www.rpmracingca.com/)
Thanks I will give that a try.
I got my spin on adapter from Randy for my 86', never going back, it is perfect.

Did you pinch the wiring harness that runs next to the filter canister?
It's very easy to do if you don't know it's back there... BTDT.
If you did, it's easy to overtighten and crack the canister.
I too like the spin-on adapter. :good:
