Title: auxiliary draving lights
Post by: delarbreavous on April 01, 2011, 04:24:48 AM
I've been going trough all the pictures Frank (racerman 27410) posted on this site trying to figure out how his aux. driving lights were installed on the fj and I just cant put my finger on it.

Can someone tell me how this can be done or could Frank show me a photo that clearly explain this!

Thanks

Alain

Can't remember how Frank installed his, but I fab'd a bracket to mount them to the upper oil cooler mount bolts.

Thanks Chris,

will try to figure out how this could fit on my FJ tomorrow.

Never though of using the oil cooler mounting bolts to hold the driving light.

p.s. tomorrow should be the first ride of the season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alain,
Let me know if you have any questions.  I'll have to go out to the garage and take a close look, as I haven't messed with them in a couple years.  But they're still on there and I've had no issues wrt the mounting.

Chris could you post some photos of your installation.

I'm not sure how the trick is done.

Thanks

Alain,
I updated the bracket image above.  Found one with basic dimensions.

I never got the switch to a permanent location, but its functional.

Here are some pics (brackets not yet painted):
