Title: FJ'r from NY
Post by: fjrider1 on April 17, 2009, 10:12:13 PM
I've had my 86 for 21 years. I have over 100k on her with NO rebuild.
Bike is still going strong, a couple of qwerks I'm ironing out...

Picked up an 03 FJR in Feb of 04.

The difference is the FJR is a very technical, precise ride...

The FJ is just FUN!

Great lookin 86 Adam. I like the lowers..what are they? I have a Targa lower, but has no vents or holes for the covers.
Welcome to the  bestesst site on the net....
Cheers...Jake

Thanks for the Kudos guys! The lower is a lockhart, I've never seen these on another FJ...

Having some carb issue's at the moment, I removed them last year and used a ultra sonic wash.

Carbs came out great except it has a high idle which comes down when I put a load on it.
Let out the clutch until almost stalling. Still have to do a carb synch to hopefully fix this
issue. I received other suggestions from the international FJ list...

Mine had that exact symptom.

Synch fixed it.
