Title: Question's
Post by: Coronet on February 18, 2011, 08:56:10 AM
Its looking more and more like I'm going to be forced into selling my bike as the IRS and I are having a slight disagreement and it's looking like the IRS is winning.   Not a sure thing at this point but its not looking good.
My question is this: do I remove the extra's (exhaust, pods, clutch coil spring conversion, jetting kit, etc, etc, and put the bike back to stock or sell it the way it is. I also have 2 new tires I was going to install - not sure the "extra's" make any difference in what I can get out of the bike.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mark H.

The extra mods do not make it worth more to the general public.

Put it back to stock and sell it that way.

sell the extra bits on the side.

I agree, mostly. The mods don't make it worth more money to the general public, but gee-gaws and doo-dads sometimes encourage a buyer on the edge to make the sale. $25k worth of new siding and windows don't make your house worth $25k more, but it makes it easier to sell.

But yeah, I'd return it to stock and sell off the good bits, especially as a need for cash is what precipitates this sale.

Pull them off the bike and keep them for your next FJ after things get resolved and are looking up.

 Thanks for the replys.

Going to try to hang on to it if at all possible. Had to sell my first FJ years ago, against my will - don't want to do it again.

Took the bike out last Sat. for a 200 mile ride - made me realize how much I would miss the bike......

Who knows, mabe I'll just live under the bridge for a while.       :dash2:
