Title: How do I take the airbox out?
Post by: jmt476 on February 16, 2011, 07:28:37 PM
Hey guys, I've decided to swap the factory airbox in my '92 for a cone filter setup. The only problem is that I can't figure out how to get the darn thing out. I assume that the side pieces detatch, but if that's the case then I can't figure out how.

Thanks guys,

Josh

The airbox is all one piece. Remove the two top bolts on the sub frame allows the sub frame to be rotated down a bit. This in turn makes air box removal roughly 1000% easier.

Good luck,

Dan

...and if you haven't already bought them consider the UNI dual pods instead of the K&N junk.   :good:

A sawsall makes the job much easier, take it out in many little pieces ;)

Unipod is what I meant. I've heard a lot of good things about them on the site. Is it one filter connected to all four carbs or one filter per carb? Oh, and I'm liking the sawsall idea.haha

One filter, two carbs.

The sawzall idea is good, but makes a lot of shavings to clean up...
