Title: "Engine mount damper" in drive sprocket cover.
Post by: TheRadBaron on February 13, 2011, 10:14:04 AM
I really like the look of exposed countershaft sprockets on bikes, so I was planning on trimming the sprocket cover down to allow it to show.  However, there's an "engine mount damper" inside the cover that would have to be removed in the process.  It doesn't seem to serve much of a purpose, but I'm sure it's there for a reason.  Dampening vibrations, maybe?
Will there be any ill effects if I remove this damper?
