what sizes should i have on hand

I dont want to be redundent, but i am about to purchase some jets from "rpm" and he suggested starting with 117.5 on the main jets, and 40 on the pilots. I would like to have 2 other sizes for those jets just in case i need to go up or down. With a full header and exhaust system and k&n pod filters what would you guys suggest? Thanks.
I suggest you stick with what he told you.Best to stick with one good source for advice :flag_of_truce:
Nothing worse than giving advice than when someone does not listen but goes and asks everyone they can think off and ends up with conflcting information and insulting you when they dont listen to what you told them.

Randy has you at a great starting point, with just a turn of a screw for final adjustments.
Thats not far from what I run bike or car. What needle are you using, stock? aftermarket?
As said before stick with one source, and Randy does know his stuff.

if you have adjustable needles you can do the rest of your tuning easily.
the FJ has a fairly inefficient combustion chamber so you want to run the bike as lean as you can to get the maximum power.

I have 120's in my bike, and it is too rich.
I would bet the 117.5 would be perfect.
That's strange. Factory Pro gave me a 130 when i got my kit from them two years ago. I've got the D&D 4-1 exhaust and UNI pod filters. I've always had a slight bog when giving it lots of throttle at low revs that i could never tune out. Maybe I should go smaller on the mains?
^ FP uses a different needle setup. The shape of the tip of the needle still partially blocks the orfice, and has to be factored in.
However, what you're describing sounds a lot like your float height isn't quite right. Needs a little less fuel in the bowls, and I'll bet it'll clean up.
Ahh, the mystery is solved! Always wondered why it was such a large jet. Thanks for the tip on the float height. I've got to put new throttle cables in before spring so while I'm in there I'll pull the carbs and see where my float height is at.
