you need a new one.   :rofl2:

they are connected internally , if the odo works then the speedo is toasted.

go to the introduction page and tell us about yourself, maybe someone has one to sell you.

thanks.  i just got my 89 fj 1200 from my brother in law for 1500 and it has about 50,000 miles.  He has two more fj 1200's.  one with an engine (86) and the other just frame and plastic.  He gave me another whole dash so i will take out the speedometer in that one and put it in mine and hopefully that will work.  This is my first bike and it needs a little tlc.  I used to be a hardcore banshee and 250r man and i worked on my on stuff so i think i should be able to make any repairs with everyones help and knowledge.  Thanks again.

sounds good , you are going to want to replace the light bulbs while you have it apart.

it's just karma after you mess with the gauge cluster, one of the bulbs that lights up the cluster will go out.
