Maybe I am a little thick headed but I would like to know if anybody can tell me which position the reserve switch is in when you are on reserve? I know that it is a little redundant any way with a fuel guage a fuel low warning light and a reserve switch. I have never dropped low enough on fuel to find out witch position the switch needs to be in. I know that it is electronic not a level valve but a ignition cut out switch. the top says reserve and the bottom says on so which is it? :dash1:

I have assumed that when in the ON position, you are in full tank mode, when in the RES position, you are in empty tank mode........I may be wrong, but its been good so far.

Res= reserve
push the button up toward reserve=reserve.

it you have an 86/87 model then the best thing to do is to disconnect the wires going to the petcock and be done with it forever.

Many moons ago... i taught my little sister (she was 8 at the time) how to ride a peppy 1978 YZ80.... there were a lot of trials and struggles during this process... like learning how to kick start a two stroke without flooding it.... then how to clear a flooded engine (doh). Learning how to take off with a peaky two stroke without stalling...(more kick starting practice). then learning how to ride in the woods without stalling. (MORE kick starting practice)....she was determined and was pretty good at paying attention and was a quick learner.....she got really good at kick starting :sarcastic:
needless to say one thing led to another and in the course of about 14 months she found the powerband and along with that she found the wonderful world of mud slinging.... then....
the wheelie!
many many many ass busting attempts to learn throttle control and balance point resulted in her mastering the art of the two stroke wheelie.... i was always out there with her (on my WR250) popping wheelies alongside and one day i heard her screaming something as she pulled a sweet 4 gear super horn mono across the field in front of my parents home.
i later asked her what she had been screaming and she said it was "Kookaloo!" just some word thing that popped into her brain during the adrenelin rush of pulling a high speed multi gear balance point wheelie for about 75 yards.....she didnt even know about adrenelin... she called that her " heart talking to her"
well I just adopted that word and started using it to describe the feeling of the thrill ..for lack of a better way to describe it.... regardless of what the thrill is.... the KOokaloo is always there! :good2:
