To knife edge the FJ crank or not?
Yes, a light crank will give you immediate spool up, but also quick spool down (Frank's term: nut crunching) upon decelleration and possible wheel hop....?
Here's the answer from Sigma (if ya got ~$900)...http://www.sigmaperformance.com/slipperclutchrange.html (http://www.sigmaperformance.com/slipperclutchrange.html)
Six ramp, wet type. Hard anodised in grey; Clutch centre only. Uses standard clutch plates and spring:

well Pat,
"Less is more and too much is just right" :good2:
i got two words
throttle control!
if you have throttle control (and you're not racing on a track) then you dont need a slipper clutch. JMO
Kookaloo!
uuuuh, okey dokey....
Pat, I sense another job in your future! ;) Jann is slowly getting her wish!
TBH i never had Brutus hop or drag the rear wheel ..... just real sudden deceleration upon throttle chop ( i dont do that anymore)
that slipper is a nice piece though how does it adjust ?
KOokaloo!
Adjustment looks to be the way ramp type slippers usually are, via stack height.

Heh,heh... I hope not.
I'm kinda getting used to waking up at 7, a cup of coffee and the newspaper, and not taking my slippers off until 8....
I'll just rob Jann's grocery money...
I've had the back dance round on me..... chuckles.... dont be high in revs and smack it back 2 gears and dump clutch....Faaaaaa****kkkkkkkk it doesnt like it!!!! nor do i for that matter.... but im inclined to agree with the kookaloo man
Strangely, they list it as fitting the XJR1300 03 and newer. Would be interesting to hear why they wouldn't suggest it for the XJR1200, earlier 1300's, or the FJ(s).
Doc Hacker, the UK FJ racer talks about the Sigma slipper added to his FJ here: http://www.fjracer.com/#/new-mods-2009/4532386616 (http://www.fjracer.com/#/new-mods-2009/4532386616)
I wonder how it's working out for his bike?
very good i understand as he is racing against R1 and doing ok
Got a reply from the company, says the same thing. Should fit all FJ/XJR engines, the site just isn't up to date is all.
Been running a Falicon SuperCrank for over 15 yrs on the street (knife edged and lightened)
Power wheelies in firsrt gear, never had an y issues with wheelhop.
It does accelerate and decelerate quicker than stock as it's 1kg (2.2lbs for those who can't do the math)
Getting ready to pull it off the street and put it im my dragbike.
