I really disliked Phelps and the westboro nazi church before, but this crap takes it to a whole new level.

They picket funerals of fallen servicemen claiming that God has killed them because of our governments support of homosexuals. They hide behind the first amendment of the constitution guaranteeing freedom of speech and religion and use it as a tool to spread their hateful message.

yup. thats just farked up.its true the old saying....common sense aint that common. confirms the other opinion tho. believe what you like i dont care. phases me not, and the main fact is that if you take the MAIN religions, hindu,buddhist,muslim,christianity, catholic, at all times yes there are words of gods wrath, but hey he gives you rules to live by, its always the extremists? who twist and turn it. i myslef am not religious i have my own opinions, but have always thought that the ten commandments.... even if athiest, are a good set of rules to live buy. you have to ask at what point did they go hey yeah this is IT!!! the conundrum that i would have is yes they need to be stopped but if you did then you have the potential to be not much better than them because you may have resorted to their level to get the point across. I hate to rant but people piss me off sometimes and its really really not hard to get along. Hermicles is my god :)

The Westboro clan is offensive to many, but so are flaming queers and countless other facets of modern society.
I'd rather pray for them and the countless other hypocrites this world is seemingly overstuffed with than sit around and talk trash about them.
Time is better spent on so many other topics.
On a side note, I've personally met "them" in Topeka. I was on a ride and literally stopped in the middle of the busy road when I saw them protesting, I had never seen or heard of them before, and thought it was a joke.
I pulled over, and walked right up to them, right in their faces, to look in their eyes to see what kind of people they were.
Adults, some senoirs and kids, they were all just voicing their opinion, and not one of them backed away from me, nor did I from them.
They made a show for about 10 minutes then left the area, sure seems like it would be smarter to ignore them.
I do have friends who are Patriot Guards and see the "need" for them, I do feel Westboro oversteps their bounds on occassion.
America is not what it used to be, we could spend countless hours discussing that.
Freedom carries a heavy price, and we all need to be very careful when and where freedom is limited.
