Hi. I am a newbie from the cold interior of British Columbia. Bought an 86 FJ last month with 96000KM on it I only got to take it for short spin cause it was freakin cold on Nov.11. Runs good no noises or smoke but I need a front fender. Can anyone help me. Just about forget I have been riding for almost forty years off and on. Last bike was a 1981 Suzuki GS 1100. Dont mean to ramble so later folks.
Welcome to the club!....I have seen front fenders on e-bay.....there is also a parts for sale section here on this site...also, most salvage yards have a "parts search" form you can fill out and they e-mail you back if they locate one. 81 GS1100's where the bike of the day...i had an all stock blue 81.

If the snow starts melting next spring and you still haven't found a front fender on eBay, the FJ Parts / Service Vendors & Discounts board http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?board=27.0 (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?board=27.0) and the Links & Archives board http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=24.0 (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=24.0) will give you places to look for a fender retail. I know they're available for the '89's--not sure about the '86's.
I'd use Zanotti's or Woody's, granted I'm on the east coast and so are they. You can get the Yamaha part numbers from this link: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx (http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx).

Excellent point Doug. That was a broad generalization on my part. This theory applies to those of us who simply replace our tires with standard tools when they become worn, as opposed to melting them off the rim at the local burnout competition.

Mark, if every stoplight downtown isn't a burnout competition, you are either 1) sorely needing your FJ tuned up a bit, or 2) not riding it the way it's meant to be ridden. :wacko1:
