and   .....   is that Andy?

No mate you did nothing wrong........just that its usual for folks to introduce themselves here b4 diving in.

Not many folks here with functioning ABS..... most seem to remove it.

Anyway, from what I can make out in the parts diagram, seems likely that the part you are saying is loose in the front wheel is not meant to be loose.

Secondly, M reg means nothing to most of us folks in USA or Australia.......what is the year your FJ was produced?.... has to be '91, '92, or '93..... not aware of any changes to the ABS functionality once it was produced first for the '91 model, but you never know.

Welcome to the group...... tell us a bit more about yourself and your FJ.

Cheers
Harvy

Somebody please call the grammar police!!

Steve- being perfectly honest with you here. Most readers will get about 10 seconds into your paragraph and then quit. It's very confusing where your sentences start and stop. Try some simple punctuation, capitol letters and correct spacing. This will get you more responses to your questions.

I'm not saying I'm perfect. I'm just saying it's confusing. Don't take it personally.

Welcome aboard. :hi:   Lots of helpful people here.

Translation:

Hi.  My name is Steve.  I have a 95 FJ1200ABS.  I would like to disable the ABS because I don't think it's required; normally accidents are from getting hit rather than losing traction under braking*.  I got a good price on the FJ and would like to keep it.  I am currently rebuilding my FJ because the weather is uncooperative with letting me ride.  Merry Christmas.

*This is wrong, the vast majority of motorcycle accidents are single vehicle incidents.

Much better.

I would have to agree. IMO a majority of motorcycle accidents are from poor judgement. Meaning: irresponsible driving, improper following distances, improperly maintaining the bike, and/or unable to corner correctly.

Other drivers not seeing you have something to do with it, but not near as much as all the other reasons.

You don't have to be a teacher to be literate.

In fact, you could probably teach art or something.

It wasn't my opinion.  It's the truth, according to the compiled data of reported accidents in the US.  Might not be true elsewhere, but I'd guess that it still is.
