The help you receive is directly proportional to the amount and quality of information about the problem that you provide.

"I need help" isn't going to get a very helpful response.

Also, why do the non-American types always refer to the model number?  Not owning every model of FJ, I have no idea which model number applies to what years.  I do know the differences between the years/generations, but associating a model number to that is way too complicated.  Whenever someone quotes a model number, usually the first question is "what year is it?"

So, please provide more useful information to receive a better answer.

Only firing 2 + 3 would mean likely a lack of spark on 1+4.  Also possible is carbs.

It's broken.  Troubleshoot and fix it.

Seems to be a British/European thing David........ even more confusing to us in the south seas is when a British bike is refered to as a "J" registered (or whatever) model.
I guess we here in Aus must be non-non-Americans...... :lol:

Don't go on sites and dribble like a pre teen girl, write so that people can understand just what the fuck you are on about.
Now, just what is wrong with your bike?
Describe what is wrong and you'll get help.

As an example,writing something like"My Battery is sluggish when the bike is hot and wont turn the bike over fast enough to start it" will get a positive answer.

Writing some random shit like this won't help:"hi can someone please help my bike i need it on the road it's a 3cv."

not running on cylinders 1 + 4 indicates a coil (one coils runs 1+4, and the other 2+3), hope this helps javascript:void(0);

Ive been having a hell of a time trying to get my bike to run properly, it had been lying in a shed for ages, I cleaned the carbs, changed the fuel etc, but it turned out that it was a wiring problem, i wasn't getting 12v to the coils, the power to the coils comes through the wiring loom through various switches, relays, conectors etc, and by the time it reached the coils i was lucky to be getting 7 or 8 volts,,, the solution was posted on another article, by fitting a relay in place before the coils, providing a constant strong 12v

hope this helps

Good job finding that and repairing it before changing coils, igniter unit, pickups etc. without trying to diagnose! Those electrons are hard to see without the help of a multimeter. Did it idle OK and die under load?

Once I had a good supply going to the coils it seemed to run ok, idled fine,, before that it was a bitch to start, the staring circuit was acting up as well,,, not enough power going to that as well,, im going to strip and clean the switchgear etc. and hopefully it will be fine. It would splutter and backfire when trying to start, I have since stripped the bike down and am in the process of painting and cleaining the engine frame etc. hopefully when its all back together I can take it out a run and find out for sure if its running ok.

ill keep ye posted!
