This winter has been hellish so far in the UK & I have been riding through it, but this is extreme measures Lithuania style:
how I made studded tyres for my xr650r (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohkpcaim6EU#ws)
Stuart (Glasgow, Scotland)
nice!!! hate to be in your way....lol :good2:
That was very interesting to watch, but it must have felt like it was a never ending project.
There had to be a celebration after the last stud was welded, right?
Good job!

I've ridden on spike tires and they work OK on hard packed snow.On bare ice they seem to skip across the top of the ice.Ice screws are incredible on bare ice.I run the Trelleborg friction spikes on my woods bike. They are a soft,non-freezing rubber with a medium length automotive type stud with a carbide tip. They are great on frozen and snow covered ground. They are safe on bare ice , but not very fast. They are a little over $600 a pair now. When I got them I was upset they were about $450 a pair.
