Title: There's bikes for riding and those for show...
Post by: Dan Filetti on November 16, 2010, 08:59:40 PM
Just saw this on Craigslist:

http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/mcy/2064288386.html (http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/mcy/2064288386.html)

The guy says it has 2K miles on it, and he bought it in '07 with 1K miles on it.  Which means he averages, now get this: 330 miles per year.  Even if you limit your riding season to 5 months, then that's 66 miles per month, a bit over 2 miles a day.

He want's near $20K for it.

As if, poser!

Dan, are you looking for a bike for Klavdy? Because it doesn't seem right that you'd be shoppin' for that kinda rig! I doubt I'd ride it more than 2 miles a day either. I'm not rugged enough.

Me looking for such a bike? -Naaah, just trolling the local craigslist/motorcycles section and this made me chuckle.  I clicked on it wondering what some rube thought was worth 20 large...  Reading the details, made me chuckle even more, thought I'd share. That's all.

Even if given such a bike, (much much less buying one) after the obligatory thrash-ride, I suspect I'd never ride it either.

To your point Doug, I can see Klavdy riding it though.

2 miles a day is how far the bar is to meet up with his club, or it only runs 4 times a year for the long distance 80 mile poker run.

That guy did pretty good, that's more miles than I would have put on it. Looks like it would make a great mail box stand.  :good:
