Hi folks,
I need some clarification on the wiring of this relay mod. My '89 has two connectors for the coils. Each has a red/white wire, one has a gray wire the other an orange wire. It looks from the electrical diagram that the r/w wire is the voltage to the coils and the org. and gray wires are the ignition wires? Am I correct? Will I need to connect both ignition wires or use only one? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

James,
You are spot on. The red/wht wires are the 12v supply to the coils and the beneficiary of the relay installation. You do not need to do anything with the other signal wires.

Thanks Randy,
Where do I connect the relay trigger wire? Also do I need to keep the gray and org. wires connected? I have connected the power wire #30 from the relay to the red and white wires to the coils. When I connect the trigger wire from the relay #86 to ether the gray or org. wire in the harness I get no spark. What am I missing?
Okay GOT IT! :dash2: once I grasped the concept that the relay was only supplying power to the coils and it was constant it all made sense. I did need to jump the ignition wires back to the coils. I took pictures and will add them to the thread on this latter today. Right now I am going for a RIDE!!! 65 degrees in Nov. in New England!! I'll take it!!!
