Title: Starting problem
Post by: Timmus on November 06, 2010, 06:56:31 PM
Hi All,
I just became an owner of a FJ1100, I bought it when it was not running (Challenge for me)
Everything was loose and i had to mount all things together.
but after i adjusted the cable tree it worked a bit ( started without Air filter and exhausts )
Didn't run good (of course)
But because i already thought it wasn't running OK without the airfilter, I cleaned the carbs and hooked on the airfilter and also made some home made exhausts(most of this was broken)

It ran not OK but it stayed on for a while.
After i knew the engine was OK I started to bleed the clutch , it needed a lot of DOT 4 but after some time no air bubbles I tried to use it(no success)

After i did this and messed around with the backtire in the 1st gear it didn't run free
The engine wont turn when i try to start(or it will turn very heavy)
Now the only thing i could here was the clicking of the start relays.
Could it be that i  damaged something?

The starter engine runs OK and the dynamo is also not stuck..............
Did I maybe broke the oil pump? because I tr yd to turn wheel both sides with force................
Note:
Also something  stupid of me; I assumed there was no oil in the engine, but I disconnected the motor block from the frame now, and when i drained the oil, 6 Liters came out of it.

Sorry for my bad English i am Dutch.
If any one has an idea please let me know, i would love to ride this machine......
BTW it's an 84 model, And probably has already stood still for some time.
