How about we have a head count of all the Aussies here and maybe think about having our own FJ Rally sometime. I realise were probably going to be spread out all over the place, but the riders in each state could probably meet up, then head to central (yes I no Australia is a bloody big place) point for a rally. I don't Alice or someting like that, that can be worked out later, sounds like a pretty good idea to me and i'm in Tasmania !! Even if something like this was planned for 2012 I think we should give it a go. If there is enough interest then we can work out the finer details later. So come on put your name down and let's see how many of us are out there and what we can organise.
1. Colin Reeve, Tasmania.

Have it in Tassie.
Best place for one.
late Feb/early March.
Well, I think it is about time for the rest of you to cross the Nularbor and head over to Perth.
Bill.
Whack that up yer jacksie, no way.
Tassie.
Don't forget there's a sea voyage involved too.
Arrr me hearty.

Last Aussie FJ rally, 12 riders put up their hands and then all but 2 flaked before the start.
Count me in, depending on where and when the final destination ends up.

Tassie is OK only $300 for the the Bike and a Recliner return....
High country around Cooma would be good too.

Depending on dates and location I could be in for this too.
Am going to Lake Gardiner SA for speed week which is usually sometime in March... Rally just before or after somewhere else is fine.
If any of the West Ozzies want to go I'll be hauling a trailer of race gear and bikes over, so bigger trailer, shared travel or convoy is possible....
Come on, where's all the Aussie names and where your are !! I thought I might of had a fair few more names, even if you didn't want to be in on a rally, if someone does a trip one day I might be nice to know who you could be passing by and maybe catch up with.
Oh well, a rally, trip or ride to the coffee shop anywhere one day with a couple more FJ's would be really good one day if anyone gets the energy.
Colin
Colin anytime your in the area drop in.. I maybe in Tassie around march will drop in when there.. In the mean time you could try this... http://www.farriders.com/FarRides/farridetas6.htm (http://www.farriders.com/FarRides/farridetas6.htm)

Wow, I've been slack! The FJ has really been sitting in the shed for months now, a meet up would be good though.
Hello To Klav, Richard and Harvey, haven't seen you guys for ages.
Hows it been Arnie?

X-Ray old buddy.....where have you been?
You must get the FJ out of the shed mate - before the carbs gum up!
Cheers
Harvy
G'day Ray,
Been OK, all things considered.
How can you leave your FJ in the shed for months? This isn't a snow&ice country.
Drought and flooding rain..... I guess, but no ice.
Is anyone going to organize us with a proposed date and location for a ride/meet/rally?
March would be good for me, but will try to be flexible.
Cheers,
Arnie

X-Ray!
Where's ya bin?
Hey Fellas!! Haven't done much riding at all in the last year or 2, been getting a bit more into the 4WD scene, lots of fun.
I did go for a spin to Moogerah dam to check out how much it was overflowing etc, bike is running great. I really have to get out more!. A couple of years ago I did the rear wheel swap for the Suzuki GSX-R one, works a treat. Change over piccies here ----- http://s367.photobucket.com/albums/oo115/raywise_2008/FJ1200%20Wheel%20Change/ (http://s367.photobucket.com/albums/oo115/raywise_2008/FJ1200%20Wheel%20Change/)
Anyway, will have to catch up with you guys again real soon, and Doug as well.

We're not worthy of Baldy's attention.
Sniff.
WestOzFJ, I could be in for that, depends on timing.

Same here. Sorry I didn`t get the chance to catch up with more at the Superbikes Phillip Island trip. (A bit over 3000klms) Wrapped in getting a ride on Arnie`s beast along the Great Ocean Road. (Many many thanks Arnie - and yeah finally got some of that King George Whiting at Apollo Bay). FJ1 now parked in Adelaide. Not sure if I`ll get time to take it through the next planned leg (Broome) this season, (Won`t then make the Perth Leg without getting caught in the Big Wet) so will probably settle for a Barossa tour (or two) in August, (or maybe Phillip Island in October) then a Tassie Trip in January.(-Where it will again sleep for a few months before Broome) -Only $78 to fly in & out of Launceston from Sunshine Coast. (Tuff decisions these :sarcastic:)Yeah I reckon Tassie is the go and if any fj foreigners want to join us in say March 2012 I`ll bring down FJ2. Doug.

Yeah I'd be in that march 2012 FJ west coast.
Okay, a few people seem to like the idea with a rally down here in Tassie, I am more than happy to organize things at this end, idea's for destination / trips, things to see, accomodation suggestions ect. The best time to have it would be Jan thru to March, I live in Burnie which is 30 min from where the boat comes in so would be a good base to start from. So what do you all think, lets get some names down and start getting this under way, the more the merrier.
Colin
Gooday Colin,
Tempting, VERY tempting!
I still have the FJ though I don't ride it as often as I should.
It would be a great ride, that's for sure.

Count me in. Some mates tell me Feb is best due to a variety of events & festivals. I`ll be there around early January. Got any suggestions for a storage area for my return at final formalised Rally date? Doug (popcorn)
Hi Doug, good to see someone is interested, I should be able to help out with a bit of storage at my place, what is it you were looking at storing.

Wish to leave No.1. FJ in storage early january. (Flying back to Adelaide to pick up my car & camper trailer for an East Coast wander to the Sunshine Coast) Will fly back to Launceston (Been told ya gotta say Lonseston not Lawnseston??- ) around finalised Rally date. Doug
Yeah that's no problem at all Doug, you can leave the FJ in my garage if you wish and if you were to fly in or out of Burnie at any stage I could also pick you up as it is only 15 min away.

Fantastic, many thanks Colin. Incidently I noticed there`s a bike race in Evandale 25th feb, also Launceston has it`s festivale feb 1oth. No doubt there`s an event or two in March also. (Maybe closer to Burnie?) Email me your thoughts on a Venue. Anyone else got any considerations towards a consensus to define date and/or Venue parameters?. (ie.Can we get Bike freight at backload prices from Perth?.). Doug (popcorn)

Darryl Taylor, Karratha, NW WA. Wouldn't be doing a trip east tho, but would be keen on a WA meet.
You listening Arnie .
Bet you got that photo I posted because back then
would not have been possible.Never keep in touch with the rest?
How are the turkeys ? :-)
Do you realize that Tathra meeting was 10 years ago? Time flies, huh?
Some, but many/most have gone their own ways.
Turkeys? They're the ones that have changed bikes or stopped riding :-)
If you're asking about my feathered friends, they're gone too - at least for the time being.
Cheers,
Arnie

Has this progressed any further,
being a self employed mug, holidays are a thing of the past.
Tassie would be off my list,
but a central, day trip ride & over night stay, I would consider.
Hi Megsey, no it hasn't progressed very far, I think I will give up on the idea due to lack of interest, self employed - so am I, that should enable you to at least take a week off and enjoy yourself, that's what I love most about being self employed - your the boss.
I was hoping the rally would be a bit more than a day trip, anyway.
Colin
yeah count me in,i"m in vic so can go pretty well east coast or tassie.a bit of warhing will b good though.ride safe boys :good2:
Visiting Brisbane at the moment, and having a good look at the hinterland (tin cage). Nice riding country, compared to the west!
Off to Toowoomba for the day.
Bill.
BUMMER!
I'm not in Australia at the moment mate, else I would have caught up, lent you a bike for a ride.
Tell us next time you come over, yeah?

Harvy
Hey, thanks for the offer, Klavdy.
Toowoomba - rain and fog! Mount Glorious was, well, glorious though.
We're off first thing on Saturday, Harvey.
Spending the day with the brother and family, taking the ferry from Lone Pine to the City in the afternoon, then a bit of a shopping expedition for SWMBO, aka the War Office.
