Hi,
I'm triyng to improve wind protection on my fj. Is this model better than the stock model?
What type is really efficient?

This "flip up" screen is a Yamaha item. When I bought my FJ I was given this screen as well as the low one. I think British (and Euro?) market FJs 91+ came with both. I generally fit the higher screen which does gives a bit more wind protection.

I have one of those, while it offers better protection, the buffeting is terrible ( I,m 5'10"). Can't be used at highway speeds without earplugs and at high speed the speedo becomes difficult to read. The top edge of the box is so defined I only get bugs on the top half of my visor. When standing on the pegs to stretch my legs the relief of being in clean air is enormous. I am changing to lower screen, trading off a bit of protection for a smoother ride. I have done 30,000 k's with finned screen.
This was cheap and EZ and helped quite a bit...
