Title: hoses on bottom of carb
Post by: r.chaffin on September 19, 2010, 07:57:04 PM
can someone tell me were the hoses go to on the bottom of the carbs on a FJ1200 1990. I know were the fuel hose connects to. What about the other hoses. Also the bike sat for 5 years with gas in it besides the carbs anyother suggestions? The bike has 2695 miles on it anyone have any suggestions.

Thank you

The ones on the sides of the carbs are vents. They just need to be routed down without kinks. If they are on the bottom of the bowls they are drains, and also just need to be routed down without kinks. They should be kept away from the chain.

All the hoses pointing downward from the carbs should be routed around the right side of the heat shield and into a wire loop on the back of the engine case.

As stated in another post, make sure the overflow/vent hoses are not kinked.

If it has all stock jetting, you need to check fuel level... what DOES she have inside the carbs?  Did you replace the orings on the needle seats(float valve)?  Your most likely going to have to pull the carbs at least one more time....
