Just joined the club the other day after returning back from a good rip on my 86Fj1200. I had thought about selling her but the darn thing runs so good I just cannot do it! I have changed small things over the years, but radical things may occur this winter as we are always searching for more power and better handling. Must say that the Fj series of bikes can still hold its own against much newer and sophisticated machines,and as we age along with our bikes the thought of coming off at 250kph, is not high on my list of things to do today! A few years ago the Fj got a complete paint job in a deep red color as the sun had faded the stock paint to the point of looking pretty bad. The engine has a .020 overbore with a v&h ss2r pipe, stock rebuilt carbs,corbin saddle, avon azzaro tires which look kind of odd,butwork fantastic. As you guys can tell,my computer and typing skills stink,but when I figure out how to post a picture I will do so.I tend to spend alot of time in my shop working on my bikes, and yes a couple of snow machines. Looking forward to chatting with you about these great bikes(they also look better than a gsxr), alot of people dont even knpw what they are,as one rider thought it was no bigger than a 600(no stickers on my bike), until I went by him! The Fj shares the garage with a 95goldwing,97bmwk1100, and a 1968 norton atlas 750 cafe racer. They all look good to me. Well,cheers for now and keep the black spinny things down. Jim

Its great to meet another FJ'er in the same neighbourhood. When you get some pictures, post em up. The instructions are in the general discussion section. Its funny how when we are among other bikes the attention gravitates to the FJ 'icon' eh. The discussion usually starts with stories/memories coming out about their FJ, or their buddy's FJ, and goes on from there.... :good: heh heh! :biggrin:

i know what you mean about most people not knowing what an FJ is. I usually say i have an FJ and they say "Huh"? or they think i drive a Toyota.
A growing breed in Ontario I must say...recently purchased my '84 and in the process of bringing her back to life...I still am amazed at the marvel of an engine the FJ has among other attributes of course... I have number 000139 off the assembly line, Jan. 84 on the name plate. It's pretty awesome to see a group of us all so close...can't say that about my V65!

the FJ has the heart of a lion ..... hard to find that anymore... seems like all the new bikes suffer from some kind of shortfall... for everything they do good they do bad at others.....For us it is fairly easy to bring the lion into the now with some suspension and braking upgrades..... a Penske on the rear and some cartridge forks up front will make you believe you have a brand new bike for less than a down payment on a new model anything.
