i dont know who came up with every cloud has a silver lining, but i think it applies now. i recently posted about a busted crankcase :bad:but thats been sorted by a friend with a tig welder. Now seeing as my engine is completely stripped and my insurance provider has just informed me im not insured till 6/2011 [new government ruling in ireland] :diablo: I really think its time for a bit of tuning. ive got the dynojet stage 1/3 kit already e4117.001 europe ready to fit, k+n and stock airbox, stock 4 into 2 with kerker race slip ons, now can i run the stage 3 succsesfully with the 20 1/2" holes dynojet recomend or is there a better alternative. Id really like to know how far to slot the ignition pick up bracket to get the best result, ive also got a friend with a machine shop and any advice on cam angles and duration and gas flowing would be appreciated. basicly any advice you can give me would be brilliant............ ive got a neighbour with a 929 blade and he gets on my tits.. :negative:
Re: the ignition pick up plate mod:
I just the spare one I have off the engine to make this same mod myself....
The Pitch Circle Diameter of the 2 mounting holes in the plate measures 92.1mm. This makes the PC Circumference 289.46mm OR .804mm per 1 degree of crank rotation. So, if you want a 5 degree plate that's a 4.02 mm shift at that PCD.
The crank/rotor spins anti-clockwise as viewed from the left side (same direction as the rear wheel), so the pick up plate needs to move clockwise to advance....

If you use the shadow left in the gold plating by the washer of the bolt(s) and slot to that edge it will garner 6 degrees. That is the quick and easy way to reference how far to grind that I use.
