After having me nephew race and ride since he was 4, and coaching many other kids this subject is near and dear to me. :dash2:
my four year old nephew is just getting into riding.... luckily he already has a bike but what is going to happen when he needs some spare parts ? :dash2:
PLease take the time to let your voice be heard against this travesty..... kids deserve the right to have fun!

I hear you brother. The
LEGAL bullshit, evidently, is that batteries contain lead, and the battery terminals are exposed.
At least thats what the local news here reports. Reports also that you can't buy ANY part for ANY atv/cycle that was designed for children.

I could buy the lead excuse except for the fact that xr/crf50's and KX/RM 65's dont have batteries. I could even buy the strong arming China into cleaning up the lead content, except that KTM 65's are banned too. And they are not built in China...
I think that once again some self serving asshat of a politician slid something into an existing bill when no one was looking.

Apparently, the valve stems (tire, not engine) are brass, which contains.....LEAD.... therefore, they could end up in some 3 year olds mouth.... :-\
what a crock of shit...really...maybe if we didn't import everything from china we would have never had the lead issues with toys anyway...but why pay some guy or gal in the states 25k a year when you can pay some poor ass slave Chinese person 3k a year to do the same job. oh that's right they would do it with some pride here and maybe even give a shit!
i must agree it had to be some asshat slipping it in in the dark of night no person with even the smallest amount of common sense would include a motorcycle with no battery in that lot of toys.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrr :diablo:

This is such the classic Milton Friedman example. While the government acts to rebuild the economy, it also acts to destroy it.
I didn't read those articles, but I believe the MIC estimates it will cost the power sports indrstry $1,000,000,000 per year in lost revenue, plus there are God knows how many bikes in dealers' and distributors' warehouses that can't be sold.
This Gentleman is doing something about it.... of course, malcolm is not a person to stand still for this sort of CRAP!

Lead content in the battery... Ridiculous.
What's really driving this is the influence of environmentalists in the government. They would love to outlaw off-road riding. What better way than to nip the riding population in the bud. Just another reason to contact your elected represenatatives and register a complaint.
I like trees but really though fuck environmentalists...up here in Washington they are banning dish soap...wtf you cant clean your dishes or your ass anymore without pissing off a treehugger?!?
when are they gonna start giving a shit about humans like they do about trees and fish?

You use dish soap on your bunghole? Really, I'm all for personal grooming (campfire stories) but honestly, that's a little extreme.
Windex does wonders. I got this little tiny squeegee...and I'm sure Billy Mays has a solution. The ShamWOW guy's in jail, or I'm fairly certain that would be recommended as well.
