Title: I've heard of the needle moving to the other side, but what if this happens?

Looks like I need a little threadlock on the screws............I was going to pull the cluster anyway to take the speedometer to get repaired and/or recalibrated. It has started the "cat in a fight/in pain/in heat noise" :shok:

One question I have though........
When I put the needle back on, is it best to have an empty tank, and put the needle at the empty mark? or have a full tank, and put the needle at or slightly above the full mark? :unknown:

With the gauge out and no power to it. It should be showing empty anyway.. so put it on in the empty position..

IMO anyway..

+1 on empty.  test and then bend the float to match.
