Hi.
I've just picked up an '84 FJ1100 in VERY rough shape. Its missing the fuel selector in the fairing. I've got the service manual, but theres no mention of it. Does anyone have any pics or info on this part? Is it compatible with any year other than '85? After several years off of the road, I'm looking forward to riding on the street again. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Lou
welcome and I would say you dont have one, your reserve is under/side of the tank.
If this is the part then I have a spare one I can send you:
(don't worry - this is NOT the spare one - it has the proper wiring connector attached to it)

I didnt think the 84-85 FJ's had that switch because they did not have fuel pumps. My 85 model doesn'thave one...

Duh to me - that makes sense. I wonder what switch he is talking about missing in his fairing then?
If you still have that switch....It would have prevented me from runnin out of gas in Practice during Mid Ohio VMD...
Thanks for all of your replies.
My petcock on the tank only has 2 positions. Is that "on" and "reserve"?
My friend has an FJ1200 and his has the fuel selector there.
Does anyone know what goes in the hole on the left side of the fairing on the 1100?

on my '84 1100 that space is fuse holder cover, if yours is missing then you should be able to see fuses.

or are you talking about the side panel below the tank? thats where the petcock knob goes to turn the valve from the on to the prime position.
KOokaloo!
Frank
No reserve on the 1100's (unless you count that red fuel light as reserve) and as Frank said we only have two positions on the petcock, on and prime.
