Title: New member from Iceland
Post by: TIV on August 04, 2010, 05:57:04 PM
Hi all. My name is Throstur and I live in Reykjavik, Iceland. I have been lurking around on this forum for over a year. I have a 1993, FJ1200 ABS, USA model with only 20.000 miles on the clock. I also have a 1990 BMW K75RT in excellent condition. also with only about 20.000 miles on the clock.

I am a veteran motorcyclist and have had all kinds of motorcycles; British, German, American and Japanese. The FJ1200 is one of the finest motorcycles I have had the pleasure to own and ride.

You do know you're preaching to the already converted about the FJ :-)

Cheers,

Welcome to the group.
What are your riding options in Iceland?
My impression is that there may not be too many places to go, but the scenery would be grand.

Welcome here Throstur.

I too has a K75 although it was an "S" not an RT, which, incidentally I do not believe the brought to the US.  Over here they called it the "flying brick".

Plenty of fine folks here, with a wealth of information about your FJ.

Thanks for a warm welcome. There is plenty of magnificent MC routes in Iceland. Me and my wife travelled for twelve day´s in July, very nice weather, took it easy, drove around 2000 miles. Take a look at this link for pictures (more to come). http://s415.photobucket.com/albums/pp231/throsturv/Yamaha%20FJ1200/ (http://s415.photobucket.com/albums/pp231/throsturv/Yamaha%20FJ1200/)
