Well folks, I finally have another bike to sit next to my beloved 91.
A few years ago I was in Tellico for the fall rally without my FJ with me. Bad weather made my decision easy just drive out and party with my friends. The night before I left I was called by friend and told to bring my riding gear to the party. I showed up and is less than 10 minutes had two rally attendees offer me a bike to ride the folowing sunny day. I decided to ride Jacks FJ1100 and fell in love with the bike.
Andre Minns sent me an email a couple weeks ago considering selling his 1985 FJ1100. He had not ridden it the past couple of years and thought he would rather sell it to a club member than part it out. I was eager to catch up with him and give it a look. It needs some work but for the most part it all there, I just need to get her rolling again. The usuall stuff tank and carb clean, complete tune up and carb synch give all the brakes and driveline a look see. Then a few plastic bits and some detailing and she should be in pretty good shape again.

Wish me luck....

"but for the most part is all there"?! That is freakin GREAT shape if you ask me! Wow - mine wouldn't look near that good after a month of detailing!
Well done! Now just need a little head work, cams, high compression pistons...and make a "little" screamer (ala TeeeeCeeee's prior toy) to compliment the 91!

I will be upgrading the front suspension and brakes for sure. I will go with the late model sliders and either emulators or the new f3 cartridge mod and straight rate springs. For the rear I will add a YZF-600 rear wheel and a better shock. Brakes will be monoblocks with upgraded masters for the front brakes and clutch. The motor only has 30,000 miles on it so as long as it runs strong I will be happy with that for now.
Im happy as a kid in a candy store at the moment...

rock and roll, eric, great job to you and the seller for keeping it in the family!
That looks just like my '85 did (except that red seat -did you buy that seat from Dean by any chance?)
Nice purchase.
Good luck.
