Howdy. Its a good idea to go with one of the several 14mm master cylinders available. Recently a few of us have tried out the newer radial masters with great results. On my YZF600 race bike I run a 2009 R1 master with 2002 R6 'blue dot' calipers braided lined. My brakes are amazing with this set up. Previously I ran the blue dots with an R6 14mm master.

I use an '05 FZ1 front brake master cylinder, steel braided lines and calipers on my 89 with a YZF600 front wheel and 300mm EBC front rotors that I like a lot. The only mod I had to do was grind a small notch in the front of the right handle bar to allow the brake light switch to clear to allow the master cylinder to rotate forward enough for a comfortable lever angle. You can not see the notch after the install is done.
