Just wondering what people prefer to have on their feet while riding.
I have to say, I ride with tennis shoes and have had more than one time of the laces hooking on the shifter and foot rest.
Not saying it's right, and I should try something else, but thats the point of this topic, so lets hear some ideas! :good2:
Leon
Leon,
boots are preferred riding footwear. laces have caused more than one tipover at a stoplight when hooked and you can't put your foot down.
other options are:
flip flops
jesus creepers
velcro straps with stars to match your helmet. :wacko3:
Tall thick cowboy boots, or work boots, but sometimes sneakers with no laces.
Although the beach flip flops or crocs might be good, safe and stylish too!!
9 out of 10 times I wear my TCX Airtech boots. Sometimes I wear Blundstones but almost never anymore; I already have a plate and a bunch of screws from shattering my left ankle years ago, so I would rather err on the side of caution with my foot wear.

EVERY TIME I GET ON THE BIKE!
no matter how convienient wearing sneakers/hiking boots may be , if you are ever involved in even a minor tip over and your foot becomes trapped under the bike....... you are in trouble with a capital T
would you ever intentionally drop over 500-600 lbs on your feet ? of course not.... but if the bike gets on top of you that is what's happening.... and that's at a standstill..... add grinding down the asphalt into the equation and IMO you cannot have too much protection for you AND your feet.

Depends on the riding I'm going to do. Almost always something over the ankle though, and decent riding boots when I'm intending to go farther than across town.
Boots, Boots and Boots, what more can I say.
Wear whatever the fuck you like, Tshirts, shorts, sandals, just don't tell others what to wear ya damn Commies.
next you'll be telling people to wear a damn helmet, have quiet pipes, obey all road rules.
Poofters.

Motorcycle boots. Sometimes I'll wear regular shoes for short rides around but just feel better wearing the boots.
Did someone mention Crocks?

Teknic Defender Boots, every time. Current pair is about worn out, just wore thru the sole. Got a new pair on deck.
see those crocs give you extra steering, maybe a speedo and no shirt and your all set
Can we get those people do to a group beneficiary policy for us here???
Alpinestars boot every time I ride. Got 'em on clearance cheaper than sneakers. If I'm feeling lazy or "casual" I take it as a warning sign that I'd better use the car.
But I didn't know about those sandals, so thanks Mr. K! I'll try that when I get done grinding the toe off my boots....

Betcha that's the Rainbow Guy! Because you would have to be seriously wasted to flat track like that on a scooter I'm thinkin.
I wear indoor soccer shoes.I can feel the road and get great traction.Sandals look cool and interesting.
I have boots too and have gone to the store in flip flops.Flip flops were not a good choice.
I wear Steel-toe Leather/Textile SWAT boots.....they come way up above my ankle, and when laced up, the loops are way above any of the pegs or levers

So, Frank, what are you supposed to wear to protect feet from your 6" vice? :-)

Ditto! My original pair of Teknic Defenders are almost worn out. The backup pair will probably be called to duty sometime this year.
I bought an expensive pair of Alpinestar boots, but the sloped heel won't allow me to get the sidestand down unless I dismount and use my toe.
