Title: Anyone recognize these lowers?
Post by: thuber3040 on July 06, 2010, 12:42:14 AM
I'm thinking vintage Lockharts but I would have to dig through my old mags to make sure.

Not sure if I want to keep them on or not, but I cant run the stock lower with that yosh exhaust.

Might be a Targa - I've got what I *think* is a Lockhart lower on my '86, and there's no scoop or opening for the side cover on the engine. Also, beware of overheating issues in heavy traffic and high (over 90F) temps. Mine got so hot in Chicago traffic that it started to burn off the accumulated oil seepage around the cam cover bolts, and I was sitting in an oil-smoke fog. Really bad detonation, too, but it cleared up as soon as I got moving again.

I have a set on my 85fj1100.  The name on them is JEBS. would love to know where to buy a new set
but  I can't find any info on the net.Mine were installed by Hurst Yamaha when I bought the bike new in 1985
for 5795.00 and came with a new set of pirellis  installed. I have the stock tires in my garage don't think
I would ever put them  back on after 25 years.
cheers Robert
