Post by: UJM on June 12, 2010, 04:06:01 PM
Gotta love old UJM's, simple and fun to work on.

Tank removed -

Specialited fastener containment recepticals (egg carton) and other stuff on the car.

Valve cover off

Special tool in place, holding bucket down

Had a nice selection of shims on hand

Also replaced the plugs, fuel filter, synch'ed the carbs.

Oh, 5 valves needed adjustment (all intake), and only one carb needed a minor bump.

The plan is to order up a new valve cover gasket, retaining bolt seals and a set of really awesome feeler gauges from Mikes XS then do them all to as perfect as I can get them.

Mikes XS Tool Section (http://www.mikesxs.net/products-7.html?category_id=7.1)

Now they are "shop tuned" all within spec.

Time to ride
