Got this bike from a barn.
It had K&N filters on the carbs and a piece or car heater hose clamped onto the crankcase breather pipe and another washable kind of filter thing poked into it. All of that is now in a box under the bench. Ugh. I have an airbox to install once I rebuild the carbs, replace stiff fuel lines, etc. I have a manual from Yamaha but I can't seem to remember from 1987 when I had my last one apart— how and what- the breather parts and layout is. Does anyone have photo of the view under the airbox is supposed to look like? Sorry so long winded...
PS= meant no offense to anyone running the filter pods. I just prefer airbox.
After trying to reinstall my stock airbox I got frustrated and purchased pods from RPM and am very glad I did. I've restored my bike over the past year and the carbs have had to come off and on again probably 20-30 times as I sorted out issues on the bike and found the best carb jets etc. The dual K&N filters they run on Legend race cars wont fit the FJ, they hit the tail frame on the sides.

All my airbox stuff is on or after this page;

I can get pictures, if I understand what you want to see.
Thanks!
I am trying to figure out this URL thing for posting pictures here. Then I will post a photo or two of what I have in front of me to hopefully get support.

Ditto. I tried the dual pods but the intake noise was too much so sold 'em and went back to the air box. I will admit though the hardest part with reinstalling the air box is connecting the crankcase breather to it. Other than that it's not that bad.

I get it lined up and push it in with the flat of a large screwdriver from above.
I remember dealing with that pesky crankcase vent.
I threw away the plastic elbow and put one of these on..

I could easily poke the threaded side into the air box and reaching into the box, capture it, slip on a washer, and thread on and tighten the nut.
I did use 2 sealing washers, one inside the box and one on the outside.

Next stop Ace hardware. Thanks Pat
No luck loading pics here.
What I am looking for is images of the fuel supply line and carb breather routing. OEM set up.
