Hi, I'm Dave and I like to restore classic bikes. This season, I've completed a stock 1992 Yamaha FJ1200 ABS that was a CA bike which then sat garaged in NY for a decade with a low 26,500 miles. This gem has been completely gone through including...

-Engine and fork oil changed. Gave the engine two oil changes. STP 20w50 dino-oil worked great with no overheating for this air/oil cooled bike during our stupid hot summer. New fork seals and the fork oil weight was tuned to balance its aftermarket progressive springs and rear shock. New oil, fuel, and air filters.

-Brake, clutch, and ABS pump lines bled. Front and rear brake calipers and clutch slave were completely rebuilt with new seals and polished the pistons. Thick brake pads all around. Rotors are straight with plenty of life. The ABS system appears to be working!

-The clutch works fine with solid confident shifts and the dog gears do NOT have the older FJ 2nd gear issue!

-Carbs rebuilt, re-jetted, and mechanically synced and mix-tuned. All four Champion plugs read perfect.

-Valves clearances shimmed to spec and should be good for another 40k+ miles. Compression is excellent for all cylinders. Engine gaskets are intact with no oil leaks.

-Solid 530 chain conditioned and waxed. Sprockets have stock number of teeth with no shark-finning.

-Newer Avon Spirit ST dual composition tires will definitely pass inspection, should be good for another 6,000-8,000 miles, and have held their air all summer. Wheel bearings and speedo gear packed with fresh grease.

-New fuel cap, rebuild the petcock, and the gas gauge works. Newer fuel pump. Fuel lines cleaned and replaced as needed. Gave the whole fuel system a good shot of Seafoam and it's running clean. Tank has a minor ding and touched up some scratches common with these bikes. Inner tank was cleaned and treated with Evapo-Rust to retain the lining for some minor pinhole rust spots and is now solid. It has been fed nothing but non-ethanol gas since.

-Electronics tested and all good. Newer battery charges well within spec and plenty of starting juice. Buttons and controls were refurbished. All lamps are good. All gauges work.

-Plastics are complete with no major cracks or tab breaks, were touched up, and polished. Engine paint is very good! Overall condition is appropriate for a 33 year old bike and easily passes the 5 foot test where most won't notice small cosmetic imperfections unless looking up close.

-ADD-ONS: Some nice ergonomic and performance additions include bar risers, fork brace, Givi luggage rack, Laminar Lip wind deflector, RAM phone mount, seat cushion/cooler, and soft grips!

***Clean title in my name. Cash only. No trades. Test rides require cash in hand and waiver signed. If you see this ad then it's still available. Thanks for looking!***
